The Turtle System offers more energy management benefits at less cost then other AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems. The Turtle System's unique technology means that thousands of Turtle transmitters can operate simultaneously and continuously, each on its own frequency, without having to be polled.
This delivers a continuous flow of information from the meters telling each customer's kWh usage, peak demand, time and date of peak, whether or not there is a power outage, and more. Utility personnel use that information to locate bad grounds, arcs, power outages, outage blinks, and tempering. Because they know which phase the signal travels on, engineers can keep the phases balanced and cut line loss. Technicians watch trends and use profiles, while customer service representatives can use this information to answer customer questions or resolve complaints about bills.
